is currently seeking a Sr. Sensory Scientist located in Glenview, IL to support
its Pizza and Grocery business units.
As a Sr. Sensory Scientist, you will
provide technical guidance and leadership to technical cross-functional teams
by designing, executing, analyzing and reporting sensory guidance research studies.
You will work on a wide range of product categories and a wide range of products,
including new product development, quality improvements, productivity and new
technology platforms. Your role is to build a fundamental
understanding of the impact of product/packaging components on product
perception.
The Senior scientist partners with Consumer Guidance & Statistics, and interfaces
with R&D, Packaging, Analytical Chemistry, Flavor Chemistry , Marketing and
Marketing Research. Key responsibilities for this position include: design and
execute sensory research strategies that deliver optimal products by translating
consumer wants and needs into
actionable technical recommendations; collaborate
with other internal and external scientists to integrate analytical, sensory and
consumer data sets to provide solid, data-based recommendations; develop and/or
adapt sensory testing material to test novel technologies and product systems;
design and present sensory training for technical and non-technical audiences. Qualified
candidates should possess the following: - Master's
degree in Food Science, Sensory Science or equivalent and 4 years of sensory experience
or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Sensory Science or related field and 7 years
sensory or sensory/product development experience.
- Strong
working knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental designs.
- Skilled
in the use of sensory and statistical data capture and analysis packages (e.e.
FIZZ, Minitab, SAS) & standard office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Knowledge
of food systems and processes
- Ability to handle multiple
projects concurrently
- Excellent written and oral
communication skills
